Article 1 General Provisions

At the “Center for dispute resolution” association, we are committed to ensuring the confidentiality and protection of your personal data in our capacity as a Data Controller of the personal data you provide to us.

This Policy explains when and why we collect personal information (the terms “personal information” and “personal data” are used interchangeably in this Policy) about people who visit our website and use our Services, how we use it, the conditions under which we may disclose it to others, and how we keep it secure.

We may change this Policy from time to time, so please make sure you are familiar with the current Privacy Policy. By using our website and the services provided through it, you agree to be bound by this policy.

Article 2 About Us

We are the “Center for dispute resolution” association, and we carry out initiatives and events to promote mediation, provide mediation services, and implement projects in this area. Our registered address is Sofia, Major Yuri Gagarin Street 8. When we use “we” and “us” and verbs in these forms in the text below, we mean the “Center for dispute resolution” association.

Article 3 How We Collect Personal Information From You

We receive information about you when you use our website www.bgmediation.com, when you participate in initiatives or events organized by us to promote mediation, including activities under projects we carry out, request and use mediation or other services, or contact us with inquiries.

Article 4 What Type of Personal Information We Collect

We collect only basic personal data about you, which does not include special categories of information. The personal information we collect may include your name, address, e-mail address, phone number, other data required by the Accounting Act and other laws, as well as information about which pages were visited and when.

Article 5 Why We Need Your Data

We need to know your personal data in order to provide you with the services or to ensure your participation in the events offered through this website or by the association “Center for dispute resolution”, including in project activities, as well as information that you have requested or to which you have expressly consented. We will not collect personal data that we do not need for the above purposes.

Article 6 How Your Information is Used

We may use your information to:

  • Provide you with the services you have requested, including those related to your participation in events and initiatives, project activities and mediation procedures;
  • Fulfill our obligations arising from the contractual relationship between us, in accordance with the General Terms and Conditions or with projects we implement;
  • Provide new information directly related to services you have requested;
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide you with information you have requested, including assistance in resolving issues arising from your inquiries;
  • Show you ads related to your interest in our field of activity on social networks, including Facebook and LinkedIn;
  • Ensure that our customers are real and prevent fraud;
  • Seek your opinions or comments on the services and products/training we provide;
  • Conduct statistical and other analyses to improve our services;
  • Ensure that your interests are protected in connection with the use of our website or services;
  • Inform you of changes to the General Terms and Conditions, the Privacy Policy or our services.


Article 7 How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your personal data only to the extent and for as long as it is necessary for the respective activity for which it was provided, or as long as it is provided for in a contract between us, in compliance with the requirements and deadlines for this, provided for in the Accounting Law, the Tax Code and other applicable regulatory acts in the Republic of Bulgaria.

After achieving the purposes of processing your personal data, we will destroy it.

Article 8 Who Has Access to Your Information

We will not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We may disclose your information to third parties, service providers, subcontractors, and other related organizations solely for the purpose of performing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf.

Regardless of this, when we use third-party service providers, we only disclose the personal information that is necessary to provide the service, and we have a contract with the respective third party that requires them to protect your information and not to use it for their own direct marketing purposes.

We will not provide your information to third parties for their marketing purposes unless you have requested this, or as required by law, court order, or to prevent fraud or other crime.

We work with various third-party service providers to provide you with high-quality and reliable services. When you research or use any of these services, the respective third-party service provider will use your data to provide you with information and fulfill their obligations arising in this regard. In some cases, they will act as a data controller of your information, and therefore we recommend that you familiarize yourself with their Privacy Policy. Disclosure of your data to state authorities may only be carried out in the cases provided for by law and in a volume that does not exceed the purposes for which it was requested.

The Personal Data Protection Commission exercises legal control over the processing of personal data, and we provide full access to the personal data registers we maintain under the legal conditions for this.

Article 9 Where We Process Your Data

All personal data we process is handled in Bulgaria, but for hosting and maintenance purposes, this information may also be located on servers and sites of data processors with whom we have contracts, including outside Bulgaria, within the EU and the USA. Third parties do not have access to your personal data unless required by law.

Article 10 When We Will Contact You and How to “Unsubscribe”

You have a choice about whether you receive information from us or not.

We may contact you freely when and to the extent necessary to fulfill the Services you have requested, including your participation in events and initiatives, project activities, and mediation procedures, to fulfill obligations under a contract between us, to provide new information directly related to the services you have requested, in response to your inquiry, to protect your interests in connection with the use of our website or services, or based on a legal requirement.

We will not contact you for marketing purposes by e-mail, phone, text message, or post unless you have given us your prior explicit consent, or the communication is directly related to you and complies with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

Article 11 How You Can Access, Request Correction, or Deletion of Your Personal Data

You have the right to request from us at any time:

  1. Access to your personal data collected during the provision and use of services, including:
    • Confirmation of whether we process your personal data, the categories of data, the purposes of the processing, and the recipients to whom the data is disclosed.
    • A statement with a copy of your personal data being processed and their source.
  2. Correction of information you have provided to us if it has become inaccurate or outdated, e.g., your email address or any other information.
  3. Deletion or blocking of your personal data if their processing does not comply with the requirements of the Personal Data Protection Act or the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).
  4. Notification of such correction, deletion, or blocking to third parties to whom your personal data has been disclosed, unless this is impossible or involves disproportionate effort.

The desired action regarding access, correction, deletion, or blocking of personal data will be carried out only concerning your personal data. This service is free of charge. To request access, correction, deletion, or blocking of your personal data that we process, you need to send us a written request containing:

  1. Name, address, and other data to identify the respective individual.
  2. Description of the request.
  3. Preferred form for providing the information under Article 28, Paragraph 1.
  4. Signature, date of submission of the request, and address for correspondence.
  5. Notarized power of attorney, when submitted by an authorized person.

The request can also be signed with an electronic signature.

We will fulfill your request for access, correction, deletion, or blocking within 14 days, complying with legal requirements and exceptions in this regard.

You will be notified of the decision to perform the requested action or refusal to do so in accordance with the legal requirements. The notification will be sent to you by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt or can be received in person against a signature.

Article 12 How to Object or File a Complaint Against the Processing of Personal Data

In cases provided by law, you have the right to:

  • Object to the processing of your personal data by us if there is a legal basis for it; when the objection is justified, the personal data of the respective individual cannot be further processed.
  • Object to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes.
  • Be informed before your personal data are disclosed for the first time to third parties or used on your behalf for the purposes referred to in the previous point of this article, and to be given the opportunity to object to such disclosure or use.

Article 13 Available Security Measures to Protect Your Information from Loss, Misuse, or Alteration
